100% TRACEABLE COW LEATHER MADE IN ITALY

BEST-IN-CLASS LEATHERS

Our Italian leathers are entirely sourced from food byproducts and 100 percent traceable. They are hand-crafted in a scope-C gold-standard tannery certified by the Leather Working Group, of which there are only 13 worldwide. This means that, from rawhide to finished leather, every step of the process is held to the highest standards of environmental impact and ethical production.

CUSTOMIZED FOR EVERYDAY ADVENTURE

After months of research, we customized a buttery soft leather with a fine grain and thick double facing for long-term durability. Built for the wear and tear of active living, it maintains a smooth, glossy finish in the face of scratches and water exposure.

100% TRACEABLE WATERPROOF SPLIT-CALF SUEDE MADE IN ITALY

PREMIUM ITALIAN SUEDE

Suede can be tricky — it is beautiful to touch, wear, and look at, but relatively difficult to take care of. That’s why we spent months searching for a suede to withstand inclement weather and daily wear.

FOR SWINING IN THE RAIN

We finally landed on an extra-special suede made in Italy from 100 percent traceable cow leather and with waterproof treatment.Embrace your city’s natural weather patterns without worrying about water damage to our iconic shapes in waterproof suede.

100% ORGANIC HEMP WITH WATERPROOF TREATMENT

LOW-IMPACT FIBER

Cultivated using minimal water and chemical intervention, and producing two to three times more fibers than cotton can yield with the same amount of land, hemp has always been on our radar as a low-impact fiber full of design potential. As one of the strongest natural fibers (it’s four times as strong as cotton!), hemp is ideal for making durable accessories that last a lifetime.

NATURALLY DYED & WATERPROOF

Naturally dyed with waterproof treatment, our organic hemp is grown and finished in a single factory. With over twenty years of experience in hemp production, our manufacturer was one of the first producers to succeed in organic cultivation and become certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard.

THE MAKING OF

ADVENE BAGS

ROUNDS OF PROTOS, MONTHS TO DEVELOP

Instead of following standard seasons, we drop just one style at a time. This allows us to spend months on material sourcing, prototyping, and innovating a new standard for sustainable design. To help achieve our mission, we team up with like-minded production partners who are determined to solve the problems of the accessories sector with us. After hundreds of hours of work, we engineer entirely novel silhouettes — free of unnecessary plastics — to stand the test of time, wear, and weather.

0 UNNECESSARY PLASTIC FILLERS

Integral to our approach is transparent construction: all our styles are engineered without the unnecessary plastic fillers that are typically inserted into handbag linings. To achieve this, we work with master artisans to engineer self-supporting designs from 100% traceable, ethically sourced raw materials.

CLIMATE NEUTRAL

100% COLLABORATION, 0% CARBON EMISSIONS

Collaboration is what makes our process possible. By inviting our production partners to engage with us from ideation to production, we are able to track and monitor the social, environmental, and human impact of each bag. Since the beginning of 2021, all our bags have been produced in a carbon-neutral, solar-powered facility in Italy renowned for Venetian craftsmanship. advene has been Climate Neutral certified since August 2022, meaning that our brand has become 0% net carbon neutral.

THE MAKING OF AGE

AGE | 2 HOURS, 7 CRAFTSPEOPLE, 1.2M2 OF LEATHER

Because Age’s structure is purely supported by raw materials, all elements need to be perfect in order for it to stand on its own. Collaboration between creatives and craftspeople is what makes this possible: it takes two hours, six craftspeople, and 1.2M2 of leather to make every single Age bag. And thanks to the lack of plastic fillers, it only weighs 400 g.

THE MAKING OF MINI AGE

MINI AGE | 2 HOURS, 7 CRAFTSPEOPLE, 0.8M2 OF LEATHER

Despite its petite size, the Mini Age takes the same amount of production time and effort as the regular Age bag. The miniature version requires even more delicate craftsmanship to maneuver the tiny folds, turns, and stitches. All told, it takes 2 hours, 7 craftspeople, and 0.8M2 of leather to make each Mini Age.

THE MAKING OF DUET

DUET | 1.5 HOURS, 9 CRAFTSPEOPLE, 1.35M2 OF LEATHER

When designing the Duet Crossbody, we focused on eliminating visual noise while maintaining maximum functionality. Efficient pattern engineering made the slim profile, spacious interior, and relaxed drape possible. With a lack of visible hardware and stitching lines (which require extra attention at the stitching department to achieve), the Duet blends seamlessly into everyday living.

THE MAKING OF EDGE

EDGE | 1.5 HOURS, 7 CRAFTSPEOPLE, 0.8M2 OF LEATHER

Following Age’s development process, we pushed ourselves to imagine an entirely new silhouette that could still be engineered with the same sustainable ethos. Meet Edge: our sleek shoulder bag defined by sharp lines and soft tulip-shaped gussets that expand into a wide shoulder strap. Also totally free of plastics, its sculpture and shape are reinforced by eco-friendly compressed leather pulp. Every Edge takes one and a half hours, seven craftspeople, and 0.8M2 of leather to make.

THE MAKING OF TRENCH

TRENCH | 1.5 HOURS, 9 CRAFTSPEOPLE, 1.2M2 OF ORGANIC HEMP/COTTON AND 0.7M2 OF LEATHER

The making of Trench requires extra engineering and execution to smoothen the expandable parts — a special arrangement of the folds, stitching, and edge paint make the bottom section look refined and clean, not bulky. We use extra fabric reinforcements to help the tote stand up straight and hold its volume when left on a flat surface. Every Trench takes 1.5 hours, 9 craftspeople, 1.2M2 of organic hemp/cotton, and 0.7M2 of leather to make.

PACKAGING

UPCYCLED DUST BAG

For our dust bag, we sourced deadstock fabric from our hemp textiles supplier and Italian fabric suppliers. Color of dust bag will depend on availability.

LOW-IMPACT PACKAGING

We incentivize you to opt for minimal packaging with a discount, but if more extensive packaging is needed, we created an FSC-certified greyboard box that is elegant and versatile enough to be repurposed.

EMBOSS

CUSTOMIZED EMBOSSING

Give your bag a personal touch by custom-embossing a short message or monogram. To make this bespoke feature possible, we’ve partnered with Mike Abate, a master leather embosser with over 20 years of experience working with the likes of Rolex and Givenchy.
